Description
Role summary
Provide full‑time orthopedic clinical care across inpatient, ED, and outpatient settings. Perform diagnostic studies and a wide range of procedural, perioperative, and inpatient management tasks while participating in scheduled call coverage.
Key responsibilities
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies (EMG, EKG, compartment pressures, x‑ray, CT, MRI, bone scan).
- Perform procedures: digital blocks, regional anesthesia, tendon repair, wound care/debridement, I&D, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning, K‑wire/hardware removal.
- Diagnostic/therapeutic interventions: joint/bursa aspirations, closed reductions, injections, brace/cast/splint application.
- Assist in surgery (first assist, tissue closure, appliance application), conduct rounds, write orders, and complete H&Ps and discharge summaries.
- Serve on orthopedic call rotation including weekday, weekend, night, and holiday coverage.
Required skills and qualifications
- Board certified; OR license; meets medical staff/allied health membership criteria.
- Proficient with EHR documentation and concurrent care management.
- Able to work independently and perform under emergent/stressful conditions.
Submission and onboarding requirements
- NPDB self‑query at submission; CAQH login/password at offer; available ASAP for full‑time start.
- Site EPIC training: 4 hours unpaid (testing out option: 2 hours).
- OT paid after 40 hours; standard work week Sunday–Saturday.
- Lodging provided/coordinated. Credentialing timeframe available for temps.
