Job Title: RN – Flex Pool (Days)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our Flex Pool, providing care across multiple medical and surgical units. The RN will float between various units as needed, ensuring high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Float between Medical, Surgical/Acute, and Cardiovascular units as assigned.
  • Provide direct patient care following established protocols and standards.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient progress.
  • Utilize hospital systems and equipment including EMR (Meditech/EPIC), Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes.
  • Maintain professional nursing attire and adhere to hospital dress code.
  • Participate in unit-specific orientation and training programs.

Shift & Schedule:

  • 12-hour day shifts (0645–1915), scheduled 36 hours per week following orientation.
  • Hours may vary; no guarantee of set hours.
  • Orientation provided for each unit.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2–10 years of nursing experience.
  • Must possess an active State of Hawaii RN license upon assignment acceptance.
  • BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC preferred.
  • Willingness to float to other units as needed.

Unit Information & Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Medical Unit: 77 beds, ratio 1:6 (days/eves), 1:8 (nights)
  • Surgical/Acute (Laulima) Unit: 18 beds, ratio 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, ratio 1:4
  • Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

Additional Requirements:

  • Must attend employee health appointment prior to start.
  • Medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of documented proof of immunity.

Certifications Required:

  • BLS, ACLS
  • Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Equipment & Systems:

  • EMR (Meditech/EPIC), Pyxis, wound vacs, chest tubes
