Position Overview

Kings Mills Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night-shift contract assignment. This role supports a mixed-acuity environment including ICU, PCU/MS, and ED patient populations.

Requirements

• Credential: RRT
• Licensure: Ohio Respiratory License
• Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
• Dysrhythmia Exam: Not required

Unit & Patient Details

• Units Covered:
  • 24-bed PCU/MS mixed unit
  • 8-bed ICU
  • 15-bed Emergency Department
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric (critical care exposure required)
• Assignment Model:
  • RTs primarily assigned to ICU
  • May float to floors for therapy coverage as needed

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care in critical care and acute care settings
• Manage ventilators and oxygen delivery systems
• Assist with tracheostomies, bronchoscopies, BALs, arterial lines, and intubations
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and high-acuity situations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families as appropriate
