Job Summary – MICU/CCU Staff RN The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with comprehensive patient care. The RN plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on individual patient needs, acuity, and clinical priorities. This role requires strong critical-care expertise and the ability to manage high-acuity patients using evidence-based practices. Key Responsibilities Assess patient needs and determine care priorities through ongoing evaluation Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care Initiate assessments based on patient conditions, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care Document care in accordance with standards of practice and patient acuity Advocate for evidence-based care and support clinical innovation Deliver patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model Perform additional duties as assigned Unit & Schedule Details Unit: MICU / CCU Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Schedule: 3×12s Weekends: Every other weekend required Holidays: Required as needed based on unit needs (with reasonable consideration for work-life balance) On-Call: None Float: Required to like ICUs only Scheduling: Based on unit needs; block schedules or special requests not guaranteed Experience Requirements Required: 3 years ICU experience Preferred: 5 years ICU experience Required Hard Skills High-acuity, complex critical care (CCRN-level care) Mechanical ventilation Complex vasopressor management Sedation and paralytics (including SBTs for ventilated patients) Arterial lines Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring Phlebotomy and arterial blood gas collection Central line management Strong peripheral IV access skills Chest tubes Bladder management / straight catheterization CRRT Preferred Skills Balloon pump Impella CCRN certification strongly recommended/preferred
