CVPICU Registered Nurse – Travel Assignment
Charleston, SC Rotating Shifts | 3×12 Hours | 13 Weeks
Position Overview
A CVPICU RN is needed for a 13‑week assignment in a high‑acuity Pediatric Cardiac ICU. This award‑winning unit cares for infants, children, and young adults with complex congenital and acquired cardiac conditions. Nurses must have strong pediatric cardiac ICU experience and be comfortable managing advanced therapies including ventilatory support, cardiac support, ECMO, CRRT, and post‑operative cardiac care.
Schedule & Shift Requirements
- Start Date: February 23, 2026
- Shift: Rotating
- Days: 07:00–19:30
- Nights: 19:00–07:30
- Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
- Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per 4‑week schedule
- Holidays: Required per rotation
- On‑Call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope
- Block Scheduling: Possible at manager discretion
- Guaranteed Hours: May be cancelled 1 shift every 2 weeks
- RTO: Must be submitted with profile; approval based on unit needs
- Local Radius: 60 miles
- Locals Accepted: Yes (reduced rate)
- Travel Pairs: Not accepted
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience
- Must have both cardiovascular and pediatric ICU experience
- VAD experience highly preferred
- Experience with:
- Congenital heart disease
- Post‑operative cardiac surgery
- Ventricular Assist Devices
- Heart transplant
- Cardiac catheterization
- ECMO / CRRT
- High‑acuity monitored care
- Must be able to function independently in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment
- First‑time travelers accepted
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA) – preferred
Licensure Requirements
- Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license
- Pending licenses not accepted
