Job Description

Position / Specialty: Pediatric Stepdown RN (PICU exp preferred)

*PLEASE READ* Inpatient Unit is very unique - 1 unit, 39 beds, all specialties on this unit, 50-60% of patients have some sort of technology dependence - ages 2 weeks to 18 yrs old.
**IL RN LICENSE REQUIRED IN HAND FOR SUBMISSION**

Start date: ASAP
Ratios: 1:3-4
Years of experience REQ: 2 years
First-timers accepted: N
Weekend REQ: YES; will be scheduled EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
Certs REQ:
- Valid IL RN license at time of submission (IL RN License can take up to 3 months to issue. Must have ACTIVE license in hand when submitting. Compact RN Licenses no accepted in IL)
- BCLS
- PALS
Is on-call REQ? N
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Y
Open to accommodating block schedule? Y
Locals accepted: Y ? same rate as travelers
Pending License accepted: Y
RTO Restrictions: RTO must be approved and included in the contract prior to the start date - No RTO may be added after the contract has started.
Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours for 3-12 hour shifts
48 hours for 4-12 hour shifts
40 hours for shifts less than 12 hours (8-hour and 10-hour shifts)
Special Requirements:
- Vents, trach, and G tube experience required.
- 1:4 ratio experience required
- Meditech experience required
- Flu vaccine required - Accepts medical and religious exemptions

We are an acute care unit that cares for patients with chronic illness. Our children have tracheostomies with chronic ventilators. We do not have drips or surgical patients, transitional patients. Vents, trach, and G tube experience required.
