Description

Job Title: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist – Travel Assignment

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift & Schedule

Schedule: Days
Shifts: 4 × 9-hour shifts
Hours: 0700 – 1630
Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week
Call: 6–8 call days, including every 4th weekend
Holidays: Rotational coverage required

Position Summary

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist supports physicians in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. This role requires strong operating room experience, technical expertise in IR procedures, and the ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging.

Key Responsibilities

Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures using fluoroscopy and other imaging modalities
Prepare and position patients for procedures following established protocols
Operate and maintain imaging equipment safely and accurately
Ensure adherence to radiation safety standards and infection control policies
Prepare procedure rooms, supplies, and sterile fields
Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition
Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays
Accurately document procedures and maintain patient records

Required Qualifications

Minimum 24 months of current operating room experience
Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Iowa Radiology License (active or in process; issuance timelines may vary)
BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or American Red Cross
Valid Driver’s License
Completed Skills Checklist specific to Interventional Radiology / Operating Room discipline

Preferred Qualifications

Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or executive leader within the past 24 months
Previous travel or IR-specific experience

Licensure & Certification Requirements

ARRT – Required
BLS (AHA) – Required
State License: Iowa
