Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in Hawaii. This unit includes both step-down ICU and telemetry patients and requires strong cardiac monitoring skills, flexibility, and the ability to float to other acute care units as needed.
The unit consists of 15 beds, including step-down ICU and telemetry, with patient ratios of 1:3 for step-down ICU and 1:4 for progressive care.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to cardiac and progressive care patients
- Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip interpretation
- Conduct fingerstick blood glucose monitoring
- Utilize BiPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment
- Administer medications using Pyxis system
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Float to Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, or Emergency units as required
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
Additional Details
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following orientation (no guarantee of hours)
- No call required
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating to all acute care units required
- Scrub attire required
