Location : Albany, GA, 31701
Shift Timing: Nights
Schedule: 4x12-hour shifts
Hours/Week: 48 hours per week
Contract Duration: 17 weeks
Assignment Type: Travel (Radius rule 75 Miles)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced MICU Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity acute care setting. The RN will provide specialized care to critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and complex medication management. This role requires strong ICU clinical judgment and experience with titrating vasoactive drips in a fast-paced environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill MICU patients
- Manage ventilated patients and complex IV medication regimens
- Titrate vasoactive drips and pressors as per physician orders and protocols
- Monitor and assess patients with conditions such as sepsis, hypertensive emergencies, and CVA
- Respond to rapid changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
- Accurately document patient care using the MEDITECH charting system
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control practices
- Care for COVID-positive patients as this unit serves as the designated COVID unit
- Float acceptance of Surgical ICU or Cardiac ICU patients when bed availability requires
Skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in ventilator management and ICU equipment
- Experience with IV medication administration and titration
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability in high-stress, high-acuity situations
Requirements
- Active RN license of GA State.
- Minimum 2 years of MICU or equivalent ICU experience
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Experience with MEDITECH preferred
Willingness to comply with a strict 75-mile radius rule
