Description
Responsibilities
Perform radiographic exams per physician orders
Operate within all areas of the Diagnostic Radiology department, including portable and fluoroscopy
Ensure radiation safety for patients and staff at all times
Position patients accurately and operate imaging equipment and printers
Support front desk operations and utilize radiology computer systems
Schedule exams department-wide and alert supervisors when needed
Use centralized transport systems for patient movement
Access and manage exam orders, reprints, and cancellations as required
Communicate and collaborate professionally with other departments
Coordinate and call in on-call imaging staff as needed
Report equipment issues to Clinical Engineering and notify management as required
Communicate equipment issues to coworkers verbally or in writing
Remain available for assignments and floating as needed
Assist Radiologic Technology students
Perform duties related to equipment QA, regulatory compliance (ODH, Joint Commission), supply ordering, staff scheduling, and departmental/hospital audits
Access patient records appropriately to support imaging operations
Requirements
Experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of isolation and sterile techniques/procedures
Patient positioning and imaging equipment operation (X-ray machines and printers)
Licenses & Certifications
ARRT
BLS (American Heart Association)
Education
Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
