Description
MS/Tele FLOAT RN
100 Mile Radius Rule
36 hours
12hr shifts - weekend, holiday and call required
7p-7a
13 weeks
PCU exp highly preferred
FLOAT: MS 4 Pav, MS 5 Pratt, PCU and the acute inpatient rehab (ortho/neuro)
BLS, ACLS REQUIRED
RATIO: 1:5-6
Meditech experience required
Traveler must hold CURRENT NY license.
Traveler should have completed at least 1 successful traveler assignment.
First time travelers will NOT be considered.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Common patient diagnosis: Septic, COPD, CHF, post op, general med surg, post-op plastics, ALC (waiting to go to nursing home)
Required drips and medications: Heparin drips, mag and k riders
Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care, and ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual.
Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to and move patients in a safe manner.
Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
