Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Operating Room (Travel)

Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Facility & Unit Overview

225-bed specialty care hospital with Level 2 trauma designation (receives Level 1 patients)
Operating Room unit with 12 ORs
Patient population includes geriatrics, adults, and rarely pediatrics
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Patient ratio: 1:1

Position Details

Role: Surgical Technologist (CST)
Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
Shifts: 10- and 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 9:00 AM
Weekend Hours: Call required; two teams on call during weekends with rotating schedules
Call Requirements: One or two weekends every 6 weeks; one weeknight every other week; 30-minute response time
Weekly guaranteed hours
Fast-paced environment requiring a team player with a positive attitude

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in the CST/ORT specialty
Neurosurgery and orthopedic experience required
Must have skills/experience in general surgery, urology, gynecology, neurology, orthopedics (including total joints, sports medicine, trauma, podiatry), basic ENT, basic vascular, and robotic surgery

Preferred Skills

Cardiovascular (CV) surgery
C-section
Trauma
Basic plastics

Additional Information

Orientation is bi-weekly
No float requirements
Attendance policy:
- First absence: Verbal warning with email notification
- Second absence: Formal warning issued
- Third absence: Contract termination
- All absences must be made up to maintain contract hours
Housing: Candidates are advised to arrange housing early; local rate applies only if candidate lives 60 miles or more from the facility
