Job Summary

Summa Health – Akron Campus is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical / Oncology Registered Nurse for a long-term night shift assignment on the 7 East unit. This role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and recent acute care experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult MS/Oncology patients
• Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation using Epic EMR
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Float to other appropriate units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and quality initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (verified via Nursys)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Medical-Surgical experience
• Epic EMR experience within the last 1 year (must be clearly listed on resume)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Ability to work night shifts and float as required

Additional Certifications (Preferred / Facility Required)

• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Certification

Scheduling & Submission Requirements (VERY IMPORTANT)

• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted at time of submission
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed – submissions with more than 7 days will be automatically rejected
• No block scheduling requests accepted
• Float required
