<p># Beds: 29 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: Days 1:4-5, NOCs 1:5-6 - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Ortho Trauma (fractures, Joint replacements), Vascular (fem-pop bypass, cardid endartectomy, heparin drips, many have wound dressing changes) Urology (TURP, TURBT, Continuous bladder irrigation), Neuro-spine (laminectomy, fusion, back pain), OBGYN Oncology ( TAH/OBS), Acute Medical can also be admitted to the department - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1-2 years acute care nursing experience - Are RN's required to titrate drips: Yes following a prescribed nomogram - Common titratable &amp;/or set rate drips: Heparin. Occasionally nitro, Bivalirudin, Cardizem, insulin.</p><p>During this 1900-0700 timeframe RN's carry a different responsibility than the day shift model for Vital Signs and ADL's. - RT/Equipment: CPAP, BIPAP, High Flow Oxygen Therapy. NO VENTS.</p><p>Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend - Holiday Requirements: Every Other Holiday - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No - Floating Requirements?: Float required to other adult medical/surgical nursing units </p>
