For CRNA shifts we have 8, 10, 12, and 24. The 24's are limited to the holidays and days surrounding them. The needs for 12's are mostly on Thursdays and Fridays as well as every other shift on those days. 

The CRNA coverage for 24 hours is just the harder to fill shifts on and around the holidays. Every other shift as I described is needed ongoing. 

The 24 hour OB CRNA will be in house alone. They will only be covering epidurals. If an OB case goes to C-section or if there are any other needs in house, then the call physician should be called. Our hospital departments are pretty good about calling the call physician directly, but the CRNA in house should call them if it is anything other than a labor epidural. If they had any trouble with an epidural the physician on call would support them either over the phone or by coming in on site. They have a 30 minute response time per our policy.

Shift Hour Lengths? Honestly we need everything. 24 hour in house OB CRNA coverage is needed for the holidays 11/27 & 11/28 then 12/24 & 12/25. Physician call coverage these are 24 hour shifts weekdays they work the day then are on call for the overnight. 

Weekends it’s 24 hour shifts. During the call portion it is unrestricted with a 30 minute response time.

Number of ORs/Anesthetizing locations? Approx. 15 depending on the day

Types of procedures: Everything except – ENT, Pediatrics, and Neuro (may be added in the future) (CV is covered by our cardiac team only and not needed from HWS) General, Endo, and OB.

Trauma center? Level III Adult
