ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Client is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their Respiratory Care Department, offering a highly clinically challenging environment with opportunities for professional development and advancement through a structured 3-tiered professional ladder. In this role, you will provide advanced respiratory care and assisted ventilation to infants and children with acute and chronic conditions across all areas of the hospital. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families, and have the opportunity to grow into specialized roles such as ECMO specialist. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Administer respiratory care and assisted ventilation to infants and children with acute and chronic disease states in all hospital areas, following prescribed treatment plans.
  • Apply and monitor mechanical ventilation for patients as needed.
  • Provide respiratory therapy in critical care, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.
  • Deliver patient care in assigned clinical areas and complete associated duties.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team, patients, family members, and co-workers to ensure coordinated and high-quality care.
  • Participate in professional development and advancement opportunities within the departmental career ladder, including eligibility for ECMO specialist positions.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Associate of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
  • Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
  • One or more years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a tertiary hospital preferred; recent graduates of AS or BS Degree Respiratory Therapy programs are encouraged to apply.
  • NICU and PICU experience preferred.
  • NPS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS certifications preferred.
