Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Schedule / Job Type:

Full-time, Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, temporary/contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients utilizing the nursing process during each shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Initiate, follow, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation.
• Identify and address patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the care episode.
• Supervise clinical staff including LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Float between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications, completed through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• Two (2) years of current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite; candidates failing will have one re-test opportunity, with a second failure resulting in contract cancellation.
• Ability to float between departments and facilities within 20 miles.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with Epic EMR system.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with good collaboration skills.
