Position Urgency: Quick Start
Overview:
We are urgently seeking an experienced Obstetrics Registered Nurse (RN) to support a 5-bed OB unit providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care. This role requires a highly skilled nurse who is competent across Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Outpatient OB services. Candidates must meet all experience and scheduling requirements to be considered.

Schedule Requirements:
- Must be flexible and able to work any shift, with preference for nights
- Required to work 80 hours every 2 weeks (no exceptions)
- Holiday coverage required
Responsibilities:
- Provide care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and high-risk OB patients
- Manage laboring patients including VBAC, GDM, PIH, PROM, PTL, placenta previa, cord prolapse, and abruption
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate tracings and communicate findings to providers
- Administer and titrate medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and insulin drips
- Assist with epidurals and intrathecal anesthesia
- Support vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including newborn care and recovery
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, PKU collection, phototherapy, and resuscitation when needed
- Start adult and neonatal IVs, perform accu-checks, and assist with circumcisions
- Utilize IUPC, internal scalp electrodes, amnioinfusion, Cytotec, and assist with external cephalic versions
- Float to other departments as needed based on census
Equipment & Technology:
- Avalon fetal monitoring system
- Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Infant warmers and neonatal respiratory equipment
- Phototherapy beds and overhead units
- Adult and neonatal crash carts
- Vital signs monitoring equipment
- Paper charting environment
Requirements:
- Active Hawaii RN license (must be active by start of assignment)
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in:
- Labor & Delivery
- Postpartum (Couplet Care)
- Nursery
- Ability to independently manage high-risk OB and neonatal patients
- Willingness to float and work varied shifts
Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- STABLE
- Fetal Monitoring (FM) certification
