Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:   

 

Must have: (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)

 

  • PALS
  • BLS
  • 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE -Two years of Pediatric Critical Care Experience Required

 

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)  Experience with the following:

 

Critical Care Management of: 

  • Disease processes (respiratory illnesses, sepsis, DKA)
  • Pressure lines (primarily CVPs, arterial lines, some UAC/UVC)
  • Ventilated patients (HFOV, VDR, Servo)
  • Drips (epi, nor-epi, milrinone, dopamine, precedex, )
  • Complex trauma patients (EVDs, Codmans, neuro assessments)
  • Complex pediatric postop patients (congenital anomalies/craniofacial, tracheostomies, etc.)

 

Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)

 

  • ACTIVE TX RN LICENSE – temp license will NOT be accepted

 

Procedures performed on unit: 

 

  • Foley insertions, trans-pyloric feeding tubes, dressing changes (wound and CVL), port access, etc.

 

Patient Experience Required:

 

  • Two years of management of pediatric critical care patients in high acuity setting.

 

Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

  • Scrub Color
  • RN:  Blue
  • Nail Policy – Clean and Healthy, no artificial nails, gel, next gen, etc.
  • Hair - hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed.  Hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the lab.
  • Tattoos – Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually
  • Piercings – Visible piercings other than ears is prohibited.  This includes nose rings, tongue rings, etc.
  • Other – 

Unit Guidelines/Policies:

 

  • Floating Guidelines: Travelers are first to float (NICU, CHSU, general pediatrics and peds hem/onc units)
  • Attendance Policies:  The company wide attendance policy will be followed.
