Job Details

Facility: Hilo Medical Center
Client: HHSC – East Region
Facility Address: 1190 Waianuenue Ave, Hilo, HI 96720
Job Type: Contract
Start Date: 03/16/2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Variable (Monday–Friday, 06:45 AM – 11:15 PM)
Hours: Scheduled 40 hrs/week (may be 32 hrs during holiday weeks)
Holiday Coverage: Required

Call Requirements

Call coverage required 24/7
Average 1–2 call shifts per week
Up to 2 weekends per month
30-minute response time required for call-back (must live within 30-minute radius of hospital)

Unit & Facility Overview

6 OR suites plus 1 dedicated C-section OR
4–6 rooms running simultaneously each day
Small, fast-paced, and highly efficient OR
Scrubs provided

Primary Responsibilities

Circulate cases independently
Assist with room turnover and cleaning
Transport patients as needed
Schedule cases

Aaky J was very responsive, respectful and considerate, he responds quickly and he returns texts asap, I’ve even gotten random texts just asking how I was doing. I’ve never worked with Lancesoft before but Aaky has made it comfortable.

Cons

Maybe the only thing which truly isn’t a problem is the dialect, but we got through that as well.
