Description
# of L&D Beds: 10 - # of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 2 ORs- L&D RNs would circulate - # of Triage beds: 4 - # of Postpartum beds: 10 - # of Births per month: About 120 per month on average. - Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: AWHONN standards (primarily 1:1 in L&D and 1:6 couple care in PP). - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable (taken at least once), AWHONN Intermediate Or Advanced Fetal Monitoring. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Laboring patients 32wks and greater, Elective Induction of labor, Medical Induction of Labor, Stable Antepartum Patients, Postpartum Patients, Well Newborns. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: L&D, PP, and circulating experience required; triage experience strongly preferred. - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Primarily Pitocin per protocol, mag, rarely insulin.
