Description
RN Float Pool What units are included in the float pool Med Surg, Tele, PCU, ICU, potential ED if ED exp. No floating to L&D for the float pool travelers. No Peds experience required but is helpful. Nurse:Patient Ratios MS/Tele: 1:6-7 PCU: Days 1:4, Nights 1:4-5 ICU: 1:1 1:2 3 if they have overflow Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Common diagnoses/Types of patients ICU: STEMI, CVA- TPA, Sepsis, Multiorgan failure, Covid, EKOS, arrest, overdose, COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, DKA, post vascular, Swanz, code freeze, -travelers won't take IABP or Impella unless proficient PCU: COPD, CHF, Post cath, pacer, ablation, A-Fib RVR, TEE- Cardioversions bedside, PE, Covid, Sepsis, CVA, TIA, STEMI, nonstemi, Hypertensive urgency, head injury, dedicated Chest Pain Center - CP R/O - Stress test Med Surg: General medsurg, Ortho - total joints, hips, knees, shoulders, spines. Oncology related admissions and chemo administration, Medsurg overflow. Experience or 'Must have' skills *Ability to read cardiac telemetry. *Must be proficient with ortho; they have a lot here. *Experience with chest pain and post heart caths if working in acuity higher than Med Surg Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips All critical care drips including pressors, paralytics, sedation, heparin, insulin, lasix, Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, precedex, Dopamine, Dobutamine. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor?
