Required skills include the following: IV starts, port access, PICC, central & peripheral line care & blood product administration. Respiratory care: trach management, oxygen delivery (nasal cannula, masks, portable O2, HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP), chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), ABG interpretation, and non-invasive support. GI care: feeding tube management. Medication skills: PCA, procedural sedation administration, heparin protocols, and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration). Cardiovascular care: post MI, cardiac caths & angiograms, dysrhythmia management & interpretation, telemetry on the unit monitoring. Additional competencies: wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, renal failure, pre/post hemodialysis, and rapid response team use.Floating: While Prisma Health prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit, agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed. Travelers will need to begin the process of converting to an employee status after working their third consecutive 13-week contract or after 39 weeks. If the traveler does not wish to convert to a team member status, they will be required to take a minimum six-month separation before they are eligible to return as a traveler for the organization. Travelers must be 100 miles from every Prisma facility (regardless of where they are applying) to be eligible to travel in the system, unless they are one of the two exceptions below 90-99.9 miles are accepted at a 10% bill rate reduction 100+ miles full bill rate Exception 1: Night shift travelers for below specialties must be 50+ miles ONLY from the contracted campus they re applying to. Full BR granted at 100+ miles away. 50.0-99.9 miles is 10% bill rate reduction. Under 50 miles is ineligible.
