Description

Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10s (06:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Charting System: Epic (Preferred)
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS

Key Responsibilities

Assist in coronary and peripheral diagnostic & interventional procedures
Scrub and circulate Cath Lab and EP procedures
Monitor patients during PCI, pacemaker insertions, catheterizations, and stent placements
Administer and monitor procedural sedation
Manage sheaths, vascular closure devices, ACT monitoring, and post-procedure recovery
Interpret and manage cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
Assist with IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz, PCI, and closure devices
Maintain sterile field and follow infection control standards
Administer IV medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, vasopressors, and thrombolytics
Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams
Educate patients and families pre/post procedure
Document care accurately in Epic

Required Experience & Skills

2+ years Cath Lab RN experience
Experience in Interventional Cardiology and Diagnostic Cath
Strong skills in scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring
Experience with:
- PCI, cardiac stents, left/right heart caths
- Pacemakers & ICDs
- IABP, Impella
- Vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Sheath removal & ACT monitoring
Competency in EKG interpretation & sedation monitoring
