MS/Telemetry Registered Nurse – Nights (3x12s)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse to join a 24-bed surgical telemetry unit. This role supports a mixed patient population of surgical telemetry with medical telemetry overflow as beds become available. The ideal candidate is comfortable working nights in a fast-paced environment and managing post-surgical patients on telemetry.

Schedule and Requirements
36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Three shifts per week only
Required to work every other weekend and major holidays
No local candidates accepted (must live more than 50 miles from the facility)
No blocked scheduling guaranteed except for weekend blocks (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to surgical telemetry patients and medical telemetry patients as needed
Follow detailed and specific surgeon orders, including strict intake and output documentation
Complete bedside shift reports and collaborate closely with the care team
Manage non-critical drips and routine oxygen therapy (no high-flow oxygen)
Perform lab draws and ongoing patient assessments
Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies and safety standards

Unit Details
24-bed surgical unit with telemetry capability
Patient population includes urology, renal, amputations, podiatry, and general surgery
No bariatric patients
Non-critical drips only
Support staff includes telemetry technicians and patient care technicians
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 (subject to change based on unit needs)

Qualifications
Surgical experience required
Telemetry experience required
Must be proficient with lab draws
Must pass EKG exam during orientation (study guide available)
BLS and NIHSS required
