Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Primary shift: 05:30 AM – 02:00 PM
• Alternate schedule may include 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM
• On-call required:
  • Once per week
  • One weekend per month

Unit Overview

• Busy Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Strictly supporting Operating Room cases
• Inpatient PACU environment

Patient Ratios

• Standard ratio: 1:4
• Maximum ratio: 1:6

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to surgical patients
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring airway, hemodynamic stability, and pain control
• Collaborate closely with anesthesiology, surgeons, and OR teams
• Accurately document care using Cerner EHR
• Respond effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced PACU environment
• Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and strong clinical judgment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (State-specific as required)
• Minimum 3 years of PACU experience
  • 5+ years strongly preferred
• Cerner EHR experience required
• Must be dependable, reliable, and comfortable in a high-volume PACU

Certifications (Required)

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Preferred Skills

• High-volume OR/PACU experience
• Strong critical care assessment skills
• Ability to handle on-call responsibilities confidently
