Description

Shift: 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Location: Bangor, ME

Facility Overview

Free-standing acute inpatient behavioral health facility
94 beds (50 Pediatric | 44 Adult)
Locked unit (non-forensic; no inmates)
Charting System: Cerner | Medication System: Pyxis

Patient Population

Pediatrics (ages 5–18): Eating disorders, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ODD, gender dysphoria
Adults/Geriatrics: Schizophrenia, MDD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, SI, eating disorders
Occasional CIWA/detox (medically cleared)

Staffing & Ratios

RN Ratios: Days 1:5–6 | Nights 1:13 (with resource support)
Psych Tech support on all units
Nurse Supervisor available evenings/weekends
Psychiatrist daily rounds; NP on site until 1600

Requirements

1+ year Behavioral Health RN experience required
Pediatric BH experience preferred (manager approval if none)
Maine RN license
BLS certification
MOAB obtained on site during orientation
First-time travelers accepted

Scheduling & Orientation

Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
Orientation:
- Week 1: Days (Mon–Fri)
- Week 2: 12-hour shifts as scheduled
Floating required (Peds & Adults)
Scrubs: Any solid, professional color
