Department: Med/Tele RN *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS* PROFILE REVIEW+MANAGER INTERVIEW *MUST HAVE PCU experience & be able to read strips* - # of Beds: 32 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, occasional 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow on the unit 1:3 - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: adults and geriatrics, Cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, and ETOH, Covid Bipap, occasional general surgical with heart history, medical patients with cardiac history, penumonia covid, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, sepsis - Experience or 'Must have' skills Tele/ cardiac RN wanted with PCU experience, Epic preferred, ok with first time travelers - Are RN's required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, (low dose Dopamine), No Levo - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: yes, both shifts, occasionally take a light load 2-3 patients - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10 is the goal - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?  Bipap, trachs, airvo etc. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Tele portable monitors and monitors in the rooms, and tech at the nurses station. - Are RN's required to read their own strips? RN to read and interpret. - Shifts & Scheduling: 7a-7p, 7p-7a - If rotating shift, 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly. Manager to make schedule, will consider blocked schedule based on unit needs. - Weekend Requirements: Every other - Holiday Requirements: Every other - Is there Call or a Standby requirement? n/a - Floating Requirements: All areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load of PCU, MS for full patient assignment, some ER Holds/ boarding - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?  any color scrubs - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 2- 12 hour shifts,  Friday and Saturday of first week of orientation and on own by that Sunday - Additional Notes: More of a tele/ cardiac unit Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions. Updated: 1/26/24
