Description

NEED TO HAVE HAWAII LICENSE AS SOCIAL WORKER

Experience: One (1) year professional social work experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Such experience must have demonstrated ability to perform the most difficult and complex assignments

A current, valid licensed clinical social worker is REQUIRED; LBSW, LMSW, or LCSW

Current, valid driver’s license is preferred

SOCIAL WORKER

This position is located in the Social Services Department of Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH). SMMH is part of the Kauai Region, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawaii operating 12 facilities statewide.

The Social Worker is responsible for providing crisis intervention, psychotherapy, family therapy, and comprehensive case management services for assigned patients/residents and their families. This position may also lead or assist with the referral and admission process for assigned new referrals and provides technical guidance to doctors, other hospital staff, and outside agencies on the methods and procedures for handling a particular case, within State and Federal guidelines. Position requires travel to and from other facilities within the region.
