Pharmacist
Location: Tucson, AZ 85741
Pay Rate: $65 per hour
Schedule:
- Overnight Rotation: 7 nights on / 7 nights off
- Hours: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Workdays: Wednesday through Tuesday during scheduled rotation
Contract Length:
6 months, with the option to extend
Facility Details:
- Unit Size: 44 beds + Emergency Department
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Overnight Pharmacist to support inpatient acute care operations in a hospital setting. This role is critical to ensuring safe medication management, clinical collaboration, and overnight pharmacy coverage for patients of all ages.
Requirements:
- Active Arizona Pharmacist License (required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Inpatient acute hospital experience (required)
- Experience processing NICU orders (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Board Certification and/or completion of an accredited pharmacy residency (preferred, not required)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of medications throughout the hospital
- Review and verify medication orders for clinical appropriateness and dosing accuracy
- Collaborate with physicians on medication selection and dosing
- Provide medication education to nursing staff, patients, and providers
- Prepare and verify IV admixtures, nutritional supplements, and compounded medications
- Support medication safety initiatives and adverse drug reaction reporting
- Maintain accurate patient medication profiles and narcotic accountability
- Practice in compliance with state and federal regulations, DEA laws, TJC standards, and hospital policies
