Job Opportunity: RN Flex Pool - Days

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
• 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM)
• Scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation (no guaranteed hours)
• Use of Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
  • Laulima Unit: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
• Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
• Orientation provided for each unit
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Nursing (RN)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 10 years (higher end of 2-10 years range)
• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment (must apply if not currently licensed)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Preferred Certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity will not be accepted

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Floating to multiple units is expected
• Orientation time provided for each unit to ensure competency
