Cardiac Progressive Care (CPCU) Registered Nurse
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) Registered Nurse for a contract assignment.
This role supports a Progressive Care Unit with a total of 15 beds, including:
- 3 Step-Down ICU beds
- 12 Telemetry beds
Patient Ratios:
- Progressive Care: 1:4
- Step-Down ICU: 1:3
Schedule & Shifts:
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage required
Licensure Requirements:
- Must hold or obtain an active Hawaii RN license prior to assignment start
- Travelers without an active license must apply upon offer acceptance
General Duties:
- Primary nursing care
- Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Fingerstick blood sugar monitoring
Equipment & Systems Used:
- Meditech charting
- Pyxis medication dispensing
- BIPAP
- Continuous cardiac monitoring
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
Certifications (Preferred):
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
Floating Requirements:
- Will float to all acute care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and ER
