Job Title:

Nurse Practitioner – Nephrology

Location: Hudson Valley Region, New York (Outpatient & Inpatient)
 

Position Summary:

A well‑established, physician‑owned multi‑specialty medical group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its Nephrology team. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient, inpatient, and dialysis care within a patient‑centered, collaborative environment. 
 

Key Responsibilities:
Provide outpatient nephrology care, including evaluation and management of:

• Chronic kidney disease (CKD)
• Hypertension
• Electrolyte disorders
• Other renal conditions
• Perform inpatient nephrology consultations and hospital rounding
• Conduct daily dialysis rounding, managing both acute and chronic dialysis patients
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging
• Collaborate closely with nephrologists, dialysis teams, and multidisciplinary healthcare staff
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on:
  • Kidney disease management
  • Dietary modifications
  • Treatment options and long‑term care planning
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical initiatives

Qualifications:

• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
• National certification (ANCC or AANP)
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing
• Valid DEA license
• Minimum 2 years of nephrology experience
• Experience with both outpatient and inpatient nephrology care
• Strong knowledge of dialysis management and procedures
• Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision‑making skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Preferred:

• Experience with hospital rounding and dialysis programs
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• BLS and ACLS certification

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $135,000 – $155,000
  • Target: $150,000 base + $5,000 bonus
• Paid Time Off:
  • Vacation: 2–3 weeks
