DESCRIPTION:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Cardiovascular Operating Room

Location: Hartford, CT
Department: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Shift: 3*12, Days

Required Certification

NBSTSA Certification – REQUIRED

Required Experience

Cardiovascular surgery
Pulmonary surgery
Thoracic surgery
Transplant surgery
Experience working in a high-acuity or trauma setting strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile field for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
Anticipate surgeon needs and provide technical support throughout complex cases
Handle specialized CVOR instruments, equipment, and supplies
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, and perfusion teams
Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Participate in emergency and trauma cases as required

Schedule & Coverage

Primarily day shift
Rotation to evenings as needed for case coverage
Rotating overnight call requirement
Every other weekend / every other holiday (EOW/EOH) commitment
