DESCRIPTION:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Cardiovascular Operating Room

 

Location: Hartford, CT
Department: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Shift: 3*12, Days

Required Certification

  • NBSTSA Certification – REQUIRED

Required Experience

  • Cardiovascular surgery
  • Pulmonary surgery
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Transplant surgery
  • Experience working in a high-acuity or trauma setting strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and provide technical support throughout complex cases
  • Handle specialized CVOR instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, and perfusion teams
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in emergency and trauma cases as required

Schedule & Coverage

  • Primarily day shift
  • Rotation to evenings as needed for case coverage
  • Rotating overnight call requirement
  • Every other weekend / every other holiday (EOW/EOH) commitment
