Description

📌 Position Summary

Role: Medical Physicist
Facility: Scripps Cancer Center – John J. Hopkins
Location: 10670 John J Hopkins Dr, San Diego, CA 92121
Start Date: 03/09/2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 5x8 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: Monday – Friday
On-Call: Not required

 

✅ Required Qualifications

  • ABR Board Certification in Medical Physics
  • Active CA Radiation Physics License
  • Experience with:
    • Varian TrueBeam, IX, ARIA, Eclipse
    • Sun Nuclear QA systems
  • Available for interview scheduling
  • Ability to start on earliest possible date (please confirm your availability)

🧪 Job Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Director of Physics, the Medical Physicist will participate in:

  • Treatment machine commissioning, acceptance testing & calibrations
  • QA/QC programs for imaging & dosimetry systems
  • Procedure implementation & physics support in Radiation Therapy
  • Safety program management aligned with regulatory standards
  • Performance improvement initiatives
  • Support across multiple system sites (as needed)

No direct patient care is involved—this role is highly technical and primarily supports dosimetry and treatment planning operations.
