Travel Oncology Registered Nurse- North Dakota

 

American Consultants is looking for an Oncology RN that has both inpatient and clinic experience. Great contract with a great facility.

 

 

Job Summary

 

The Travel Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to oncology patients across various healthcare facilities on short-term assignments. This role requires strong clinical oncology experience, adaptability to new environments, and the ability to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications per protocol
  • Monitor patients for treatment reactions, side effects, and complications
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care accurately
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and self-care
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Manage central lines, ports, and infusion devices
  • Adhere to safety standards, infection control policies, and oncology best practices
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in condition
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of recent oncology nursing experience
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS preferred or required)
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred depending on assignment)
  • Strong IV and venous access skills
  • Excellent communication, time management, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical settings and workflows
