POSITION: RN? PCU (Cardiac Observation)


SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING
==============================
? Shift hours: 3x12s, 645p-715a

? Charting: Epic experience required

? Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

? RTO: ALL requests must be included with the submission.

? Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.

? Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

? Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes

? Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes, locals accepted. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.

? Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license.

REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS

? Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, activation of Rapid Response/Code teams

? IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care

? Administration and management of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix ? no titration)

? Respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen delivery, non-invasive airway management)


UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING

? Ratios: Days: 1:4-5 (Goal ratio is 4:1; however, consistently work at a 5:1 ratio)

? PCU caring for adult and geriatric patients; high turnover

? Primary focus: chest pain management, expedite ER flow, rule in/out MI; Overflow from cardiology and medicine PCU; occasional post-cath patients

? Remote telemetry with monitors on unit; tele sitting implemented

? Floating required within skillset
