Position Overview

UNC Health Wayne is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support the Emergency Department on a staffing assignment. This role delivers high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies
• Coordinate and provide patient care using the nursing process in an acute care setting
• Assess patient conditions, prioritize care, and identify expected outcomes
• Administer treatments, medications, and bedside point-of-care testing as required
• Educate patients and families using appropriate educational materials and methods
• Communicate effectively to promote continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care planning, evaluation, and discharge needs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure care environment
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement initiatives, and cost-effective care efforts
• Engage in ongoing professional development and education

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and prioritization skills

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Emergency Department experience (preferred but not required)

• Estimated End Date: June 13, 2026
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Work Location: Onsite at UNC Health Wayne, Goldsboro, NC
