Travel RN – Cardiac/Telemetry PCU (Stepdown)

Unit: 6N Cardiac/Tele PCU (Stepdown)
Beds: 36 (private rooms)
Trauma Level: II

Shift

• 12-hour Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekends as scheduled (every other weekend)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
• Cancellation Policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract

Submission Requirements

• 50-mile radius rule
• Copy of unexpired driver’s license required with submission
• Active RN license required at submission
• BSN not required

Patient Population / Acuity

• Higher-acuity Cardiac/Tele & Stepdown patients
• Common diagnoses:
  • Post-op lung surgeries (downgraded from CCU)
  • Respiratory failure
  • Chest tubes
• No sheaths, no arterial lines

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• MedSurg/Tele: 1:5 (rarely 1:6, discharge-driven only)
• PCU/Stepdown: 1:4

Required Skills & Experience

• Stepdown/PCU experience strongly preferred
• MUST be able to titrate cardiac drips
• Telemetry interpretation required

Certifications

• BLS (AHA) required

Scheduling

• 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights)
• Every other weekend (Sat/Sun for nights)

Dress Code

• Royal Blue scrubs
• No false nails

Charting System

• EPIC
