CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY LAB

DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Clinical Microbiologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Microbiology
Location: San Jose, CA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts

Required Qualifications:

California Clinical Microbiologist (CA CM) License OR California CLS License
Minimum of 1 year of microbiology experience (2 years preferred) in a clinical lab
Experience in identifying microorganisms in a clinical lab
Hands-on experience with:
- Plating and reading micro plates
- Micro-based chemical reactions
- Microscan and Bruker MALDI
Attention to detail, reliability, ability to work autonomously, and team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

Generalist experience in a clinical lab
Meditech experience

Key Responsibilities / Typical Procedures:

Plating and identification of microorganisms
Susceptibility testing
Gram stains
Processing microbiology samples

Floating Areas:

Processing of microbiology samples as needed

Required Certifications:

Active California License (Clinical Microbiologist preferred; limited Micro license considered)

Personality Fit:

Detail-oriented, reliable, autonomous, and a strong team player
