DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Blood Bank / Trauma Hospital

Location: Mission Viejo / Laguna Beach, CA

Start Date: ASAP

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years (strong blood bank experience required)
First-Time CLS Applicants: Not accepted; must be a strong, experienced candidate
Licenses/Certifications Required:

California CLS License
BLS

Preferred Certifications:

ASCP

Work Setting:

Hospital Clinical Laboratory (Trauma & Children’s hospital)
Blood Bank
Commercial/Reference Laboratories (preferred)

Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong blood bank experience in a high-volume, trauma-focused hospital setting
Competence in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and transfusion medicine
Familiarity with automated and manual testing methods
Ability to float between clinical locations
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and teamwork
Preferred Skills:
Experience in trauma and children’s hospital laboratory settings
Familiarity with automated instruments and specialized procedures
