Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Urgency: Normal
Schedule: Full-Time, 36 Hours per Week (3×12-hour shifts)
Shift: Variable (Days or Nights, based on staffing needs)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. This role requires strong critical care skills, flexibility with scheduling, and the ability to provide high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Perform continuous patient assessments and manage complex care plans
- Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced life-support equipment
- Monitor hemodynamic status and respond to changes in patient condition
- Utilize the electronic medical record system for accurate documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal outcomes
- Float to other critical care or step-down units as needed
- Participate in scheduled on-call shifts as required
Unit Details
- Unit size: 11 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
- Floating: Critical care and step-down units (as needed)
Equipment & Systems
- EMR: Epic
- Clinical systems: Meditech
Orientation & Training
- Up to 40 hours of orientation provided
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active State RN license (must be valid by assignment start)
- Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (can be completed during orientation if not current)
- Ability to work flexible day or night shifts and on-call rotations

- Dress code: Professional nursing scrubs
- Proof of immunity required; medical or religious exemptions not accepted
- Travelers must arrive prior to assignment start for employee health clearance
