Schedule: Full-Time, approximately 36 hours per week after orientation
Shift: Variable (Days or Nights; flexibility required)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide medical-surgical level care to adult patients (18+) in an acute care setting. This contract role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility with scheduling, and the ability to float to other units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive med-surg nursing care to adult patients
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
• Manage patients with wound vacs, chest tubes, and other acute care equipment
• Document patient care accurately using the electronic medical record system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care
• Float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as required
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

• Bed count: Approximately 50 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5

• Medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Additional equipment: Wound vacs, chest tubes

Orientation & Training

• Department-specific orientation included during the first week

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active State RN license (must be valid by assignment start)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg or higher-acuity experience
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Ability to work variable shifts and days with no guarantee of shift preference
