Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support loaner and consignment tray operations within a fast-paced Sterile Processing Department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring surgical instrumentation is received, tracked, sterilized, and returned accurately and on schedule.


Key Responsibilities

Loaner & Consignment Tray Support

  • Receive and inspect incoming loaner and consignment trays for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify tray contents before and after sterilization following documentation standards.
  • Track trays throughout the sterilization and return cycle in coordination with SPD leadership.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely processing and returns.

Production Workflow & Instrument Flow

  • Support daily SPD production workflow and help prioritize workloads.
  • Identify and escalate issues related to tray discrepancies, delays, or documentation.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and contribute to department efficiency.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

  • Accurately document tray movements in tracking systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives related to turnaround time and accuracy.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Production Coordinator and SPD leadership.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding deliveries and documentation.
  • Maintain a professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on SPD experience
  • Proven experience with loaner and consignment trays
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with instrument tracking systems
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification required

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
