Description

Travel RN – Float Pool (MedSurg / Tele / Stepdown)

Shift: 12-hour Day shifts (7a–7:30p); weekends as scheduled
Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays per core staff rotation
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Float Pool

Float Expectations:

Float between MedSurg, Tele, and Stepdown units
Floating limited to similar acuity units; ICU only as helping hands

MedSurg Units (1W & 2E):

28–29 private beds per unit
Ratios: 1:6
Certifications: BLS required
Patient types: post-op, ortho, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative/hospice, limited inpatient chemo

Stepdown / Tele Unit (3W):
28 private beds
Ratios: 1:4–5
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
Heavy cardiac population (dysrhythmias, CVAs, ICU downgrades)
Must titrate drips: Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin
RNs must read & interpret tele strips
Additional Details:
Charting: EPIC
Scrubs: Navy blue (jackets must match)
