Description

Labor & Delivery RN – Nights

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract Type: Travel/Contract
Care Setting: Acute Care
Charting System: Cerner & Fetal Link

About the Unit:

  • 8 L&D rooms (expandable to 10)
  • 65–75 deliveries per month
  • Level III NICU in-house
  • Locked unit
  • Baby-Friendly facility
  • Lactation consultants on staff
  • OB/GYN in-house 24/7
  • RT & Pharmacy available 24/7
  • IV Team available during the day

Patient Population:

  • High-risk OB
  • PIH & Preeclampsia
  • Magnesium sulfate administration
  • Preterm labor
  • Substance exposure/addiction cases

Ratios:

  • 1:1 or 1:3 (following acuity)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to laboring and postpartum patients
  • Continuous fetal monitoring
  • Medication administration including high-risk drips (e.g., magnesium)
  • Collaborate with OB providers and interdisciplinary teams
  • Float to Mother-Baby unit as needed
  • Serve as first to float per staffing needs

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years recent L&D experience
  • Active RN license (required to submit)
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • COVID Vaccination (required)
  • Scrub/circulate experience preferred but not required

Additional Details:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday rotation with core staff
  • 3 unit-specific orientation shifts
