Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – MedSurg / Telemetry / Peds (Float Pool)

Location: Concord, MA

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/09/2026 – 06/06/2026)

Shift: Night Shift (19:00 – 07:30) | 12-Hour shifts

Job Summary

Emerson Hospital is looking for a versatile Night Shift Registered Nurse to join our specialized Float Pool. This unique role requires a high level of clinical proficiency in both Adult MedSurg/Telemetry and Pediatrics. As a float nurse, you will be deployed to various units, including the combined Adult/Pediatric Medical-Surgical unit, where you will manage a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric care.

Key Responsibilities

Dual-Specialty Care: Deliver expert nursing care to adult MedSurg/Tele patients while also managing pediatric patients on the specialized Adult/Pedi unit.
Telemetry Monitoring: Provide continuous cardiac surveillance, rhythm interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring.
Clinical Adaptability: Transition seamlessly between different units and patient age groups based on daily hospital census and staffing needs.
Rapid Assessment: Utilize critical thinking to recognize and respond to patient status changes across various specialties.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all facility protocols regarding pediatric safety, telemetry monitoring, and infection control.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience.
Clinical Skillset: Mandatory Pediatric experience is required for this specific requisition.
Travel Experience: Mandatory; candidates must have prior travel nursing experience.
Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN License in hand.
Certifications: Active BLS (AHA, HSI, or ARC).
Technical Skills: Must be prepared to pass a Telemetry competency test on the first day of orientation.
EMR: Meditech experience is highly preferred (may be waived for exceptionally strong candidates).
Vaccination: Flu vaccine is required prior to the start date.

Assignment Details & Expectations

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3x12-hour Night shifts).
Scheduling: Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to all similar clinical units as needed.
Compensation Note: Local candidates (within 50 miles) are accepted at a rate lower than the standard travel rate.
