Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Norwalk, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Additional Duties: Must be willing to float to MedSurg unit
• Travel Experience: Prior travel experience required

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Minimum Experience: 2 years in critical care / ICU (higher value confirmed)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Licensure: Valid RN license for Ohio
• Other: Previous experience in critical care / ICU highly considered

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Fingerprinting (Ohio BCI and FBI) within 12 months of start
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands (initial and updated annually)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccinations (boosters required if low titers, no declinations)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or vaccine series (declination not accepted)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccinations (boosters required if low titers, no declinations)
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• OSHA Respirator Questionnaire completion prior to start; fit testing completed onsite

• Annual updates for certain competencies and health documents
• Facility-specific onboarding and safety acknowledgments

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an ICU Registered Nurse working night shifts with a 3x12 schedule. Candidates must have at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel experience. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory. The role requires flexibility to float to MedSurg as needed. Comprehensive background checks, immunizations, health screenings, and documentation are required for compliance.
