Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Days

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 15 Weeks
Shift: Days – 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)
Hours: No guarantee of hours
EMR System: EPIC

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a day shift contract assignment in Hawaii. This opportunity is ideal for a nurse who excels in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

The Emergency Department includes:

  • 28 total beds
  • 4 trauma bays
  • 2 behavioral health rooms
  • 22 cardiac monitor rooms

This unit experiences rapid patient turnover and requires strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups
  • Perform rapid triage, assessments, and emergency interventions
  • Assist with trauma and high-acuity cases
  • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes

Schedule Requirements

  • Day shifts
  • 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours weekly)
  • No guaranteed hours
  • Holiday coverage may be required

Qualifications

  • Active Hawaii RN license (must be obtained prior to start of assignment)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience
  • Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume emergency setting

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Preferred Certifications:

  • Procedural Sedation
  • TNCC
  • ENPC

Additional Information

  • Candidates must arrive the Thursday prior to start date for employee health clearance on Friday.
  • All onboarding and compliance requirements must be completed before assignment begins.
