Position Overview:
- Deliver standards-aligned lessons for high-risk high school students in the mild-to-moderate range, focusing on diverse learning styles and credit recovery.
- Lead the development and implementation of compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary support teams.
- Implement data-driven interventions to re-engage high-truancy students and address systemic barriers like poverty and housing insecurity.
- Manage a specialized caseload focused on closing learning deficits and creating clear pathways to high school graduation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement
- Prior experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with high school students
- Proven ability and experience implementing behavior management and crisis intervention strategies for high-risk or at-promise youth
